Dear Parents/Guardians:
Our return to school is approaching. I hope you all had time to rest, recharge, and enjoy your family. Below is the necessary information regarding our reopening. Please continue to visit throughout the year the district website, LMM website, Parent Square, and Student Communication Folder for additional updates.
- Tuesday 8/26 is kindergarten orientation from 9:00 to 10:00. Parents are asked to enter through the front doors and proceed to the cafeteria and remain with their children for orientation.
- Thursday 8/28 is the first day of school which is a half day (8:50 to 12:50) for all grades
- Friday 8/29 is the second day of school which is a half day (8:50 to 12:50) for all grades
- Tuesday 9/2 is the first full day of school (8:50-3:10) for all grades
- Uniform colors/requirements
- Pants: blue or tan
- Shirts: blue, white
- Shoes: no flipflops, sandals, slippers, slides
- No hoodies
- Supply lists: visit our website and teachers will also send lists home the first week of school
- Communications Folders: each student will receive a communication folder used throughout the year. The folder will be sent home on the first day of school. All policies and procedures will be provided.
- Other communication: please provide and maintain your current email address with the main office. District and school communications will be through Parent Square.
- Arrival:
- Prek students enter from the back playground doors. The teacher will greet students at the door.
- Kindergarten, first, and second grade students enter from the back playground doors. Teachers will greet students at their classroom doors.
- Grades 3 to 8 will enter through the main front doors.
- Students are tardy starting at 9:05
- Automated calling begins at 10:00
- Students arriving to school after 10:30, must be escorted by a parent/guardian
- Dismissal:
- Prek, first, and second grades exit and maintain lines from back doors to the playground
- Kindergarten exits through the kindergarten exit near the garden
- Third, fourth, fifth grades will exit and maintain lines through the front doors.
- Grades 6-7 exit and maintain lines through side door closest to Helen St.
- Grade 8 exit through side door closest to Stillman St.
- Students arriving to school after 10:30, must be escorted by a parent/guardian
- Students leaving early: a note must be submitted to the teacher at least one day prior. There will not be any early dismissal of students after 2:30
- A note is required the day before if a bus student needs to be dismissed with walkers
